Hat -trick on Improved Project Performance Award
Community Livestock Development Project (CLDP) funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) had been in implementation by the Department of Livestock Services during Dec 2005 – June 2010. Based on the project relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, and other impact criteria in the areas of community development, increasing livestock productivity, private sector promotion in livestock processing and marketing and private para-veterinary services, micro-financing, and improving the livelihoods in high altitude areas, the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Nepal awarded CLDP with a Certificate as a special recommendation for exemplary contribution to improved project performance in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
This achievement was possible only with the honest, continuous and coordinated support of all stakeholders. The project management team expresses its sincere thanks to all concerned especially the farmer groups/committees/cooperatives, District Livestock Action Teams, NGOs, entrepreneurs, Livestock Services Offices and their Service Centers, RMDC, FAO/TA team, Regional Directorates of Livestock Services and Training, Program Directorates, and other stakeholders who directly or indirectly contributed for the successful implementation of the project. Special thanks go to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Finance, National Planning Commission and the Department of Livestock Services for their regular guidance and support.
The project has been in continuation since FY 2010/11 for two years with GON own resources in order to consolidate the project achievements and to further strengthen the community’s capability in terms of achieving food and nutrition security.
